Acupuncture: the healing art of alternative medicine

Acupuncture is an empirical medicine that is over 2000 years old. Acupuncture diagnosis and classification of disease states is based on a different medical system than western university medicine, namely on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). TCM is characterized by an individual understanding of the patient and his/her illness. The aim of each treatment is to activate the healing powers by inserting needles into specific points all over the body and thus restore inner balance so that disorders and illnesses can be prevented or eliminated. There are many illnesses and complaints for which acupuncture can be effective. These include, among others, the following indications,

  • Back pain

  • Headache migraine

  • Shoulder arm pain

  • Chronic pain

  • Joint problems

  • Elbow pain

  • Myofascial pain

  • Psychological complaints

  • States of exhaustion

  • sleep disorders

  • hay fever

  • dizziness
